Two-wheel drive is cheaper and lighter. It is also the first thing a buyer regrets in mud, on a loader, or on a grade out of a ditch.
Quote 4WD when
- You will hang a front loader
- Rain season soil, clay, or paddy edges
- A loaded trailer on a soft yard
Quote 2WD when
- Hard, flat plots and no loader
- You already have a 4WD and want a cheap second unit for transport
On this site the compact line can be quoted 2WD. From the JT-704 up, assume 4WD unless you say otherwise. Also: 4WD as the export default, tractor with front loader.
